In connection with the exchange with Italy, Slovenia, Latvia and Lithuania thanks to Comenius Programme “The image of the other” 8 students from our school – Kolegium Europejskie went for a meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia between April 24th and May 5th. I am glad to present you in brief my report from this event below.
Travel
We went by comfortable bus directly from Kraków to Ljubljana where we were picked up by our new Slovenian friends. The journey took approximately 15 hours, which was tolerable and recompensed by warm welcome.
Host families
Each student was staying in different Slovenian family which learnt us a great deal about this country’s customs, traditions and everyday life of its citizens. My family turned out to be very open and friendly so as I enjoyed my stay a lot without any complications.
Activities
Programme prepared by teachers was quite tense, though there was enough free time. It included balanced amount of time dedicated to sightseeing as well as to socializing at some fun places.
It is inconceivable that someone could accuse organizers of the whole exchange of any shortcoming considering programme, punctuality or atmosphere during the trip. Nevertheless, I could propose a few changes considering sightseeing and going out in the evenings that would probably save students from some inconvenience.

Students - going to Slowenia
Our group (IB1) consists of eleven people, six girls and five boys.
Even though we have different interests and personalities,
we are able to find the common language and talk about anything that comes to our minds.
We are all [more or less :wink:] 18 years old, we like to meet our friends, party, listen to music,
play games,basically just like most of teenagers from all over the world. Because we are a part
of the International Baccalaureate programme, all subjects are entirely taught in English
[of course, that’s only the official version, because if we don’t get something,
teachers are simply so kind to explain that to us in Polish :wink:]. Our school, Kolegium Europejskie,
or, to be understood better, European College,
is placed in Cracow, 10 minutes away from the Main Square.
We are all very happy to have such an unique opportunity to participate in Commenius,
because this is the perfect way to find out more about other countries
[yes, that would be you, guys :wink:] and broaden our horizons.
